It's just food people! - Esther Blum

It’s just food people!

So this morning I ate cheddar potato chips as my morning snack, followed by some cashew chocolate ice cream. Total food porn and I was one happy gal!

I take my indulgences seriously so that I can make them seriously fun. I gave guilt the finger a looooong time ago. This was not easy, because we used to be besties. Along with anger and resentment that my body wasn’t where I wanted it to be.

But for all the years I spent resenting having to eat the foods that made me healthy, I never got the results I did when I changed my whole mindset and approach to food.

Here’s the thing: FOOD HAS ZERO POWER OVER YOU. Food can’t make you feel fat, unworthy, unloved, unattractive, or bad. The only one who can make you feel that way is YOU.
Eating the foods you truly crave is one of the most powerFULL experiences life as to offer. It’s a total affirmation that you are a strong, capable person worthy of making choices that bring you pleasure, satisfaction, and balance in your life. No more, no less. It’s just food!

I’m not knocking anyone who has struggled with an eating disorder, mind you–I’m actually empowering you to give yourself permission to experience a sensual experience that you are worthy of having every time you pop a bite of food into your mouth. Permissiveness will heal shame better than any form of therapy 😉

Guilt is like a bag of bricks; I’ve made peace with a couple extra pounds and a higher body fat percentage so I can live my life with a high vibrational frequency. I now eat with gusto, pleasure, and joy whether I’m chomping on chips or licking my chops dripping with meat juice.

At the end of the day, I only have to answer to myself. No one is beating me with the shoulda coulda woulda stick. No one is shaming me into feeling bad about my choices. No one is judging me except me.

So eat up, gorgeous peeps. Life is short. There’s a lot of good food to be enjoyed out there! Tell me what whets your whistle below and how you healed your relationship with food. And if you’re interested, I’ll do a FB Live video this Friday on it. Comment IN below if you want it!

XO,
Esther
